During his 43 years working for the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR), Jean-Pierre Amann produced several programs related to the Swiss music scene. He notably created the program “Pavillon suisse” with colleagues from other linguistic regions and produced the weekly choral music program “Chant libre” for 18 years.

In addition to his radio work, he authored three books: “Musique pour une fin de siècle, 20 entretiens avec des compositeurs suisses” (Music for the End of a Century, 20 Interviews with Swiss Composers), published by RMSR in 1994, and “Leipzig en polyphonie” (Leipzig in Polyphony), published by Papillon in 2006.
